The Royal Oak Offshore was born in 1993 as the larger, sportier counterpart to Gérald Genta's original 1972 Royal Oak, widening the case diameter and reinforcing the octagonal bezel's visual language with its eight hexagonal screws. The chronograph version quickly became the family's most recognizable execution.
