Zenith was founded in Le Locle, Switzerland, in 1865, and in 1969 introduced the El Primero caliber, one of the first automatic integrated chronograph movements in history and the first able to measure tenths of a second thanks to its 5Hz frequency — unusual then and now.
That same year, the A386 was one of the first cases to carry the El Primero, with its signature tri-color three-counter dial and ladder-link bracelet. The Chronomaster Original literally recovers those proportions: 38mm in diameter, versus the 41mm of the Chronomaster Sport, the other El Primero chronograph line already in Cazador's catalog, which adds a ceramic bezel and greater water resistance for a sportier use case.
The 03.3200.3600/69.M3200 runs the in-house El Primero 3600 caliber, a direct heir to the 1969 movement but with updated components and finishing, keeping the 5Hz frequency and tenth-of-a-second reading as its signature.
