Tudor launched the original Pelagos in 2012 as its reference professional dive watch, with a 42mm titanium case, a technical and lightweight alternative to the steel used across the Black Bay line. Ten years later, in 2022, the brand introduced the Pelagos 39, a more compact version aimed at smaller wrists and at collectors who preferred the proportions of mid-20th-century dive watches over the 42-44mm sizing that has been typical of the category since the 2000s.
Under the dial beats Caliber MT5400, a manufacture movement Tudor has designed and built in-house since it began transitioning to proprietary calibers in 2015, with COSC certification and roughly 70 hours of power reserve. The unidirectional bezel, also in grade 2 titanium, carries a ceramic insert with a 60-minute dive scale, resistant to scratching and to fading from sun exposure.
The three-link titanium bracelet includes the "T-fit" clasp, a tool-free quick-adjust system that extends up to 8mm across five distinct positions, designed to compensate for wrist swelling during diving or temperature changes. The watch also ships with an alternative rubber strap.
This is the tenth Tudor reference Cazador adds, extending coverage of the Pelagos line alongside the 42mm execution already in the catalog, in addition to the five Black Bay references, the Ranger and the Royal.
