Rolex Submariner Date 126610LV "Kermit"

The Rolex Submariner Date 126610LV, nicknamed "Kermit" for its green bezel, is a 41mm dive watch in Oystersteel with a black lacquer dial and a green Cerachrom ceramic unidirectional bezel. It runs the in-house Caliber 3235 with 70 hours of power reserve and Superlative Chronometer certification. Cazador has no verified price observations yet (n=0). Its standout detail: this is the 2020, Caliber 3235 generation of the Submariner family, and it revives the black-dial/green-bezel combination of the original 2003 "Kermit," after the green-dial "Hulk" interlude (2010-2020).

History

The "Kermit" nickname was born in 2003, when Rolex launched reference 16610LV to mark the Submariner's 50th anniversary: it kept the family's usual black dial but added, for the first time, a green bezel. That contrast between a dark dial and a bright green bezel reminded collectors of the Muppets' frog, and the nickname stuck in watch-collecting slang.

In 2010, Rolex replaced that reference with the 116610LV, which extended the green to the dial as well — matching dial and bezel — prompting a new nickname, "Hulk," to distinguish it from the black-dialed original Kermit. That 116610LV "Hulk" stayed in the catalog for a decade, until 2020.

That year, as part of the broader Submariner family overhaul with the new Caliber 3235 and a case slightly enlarged to 41mm in Oystersteel, Rolex introduced two references simultaneously: the 126610LN (black bezel) and this 126610LV, which revives the original black-dial/green-bezel combination. That's why much of the collector community refers to the 126610LV as the "new Kermit," even though Rolex has never formally used that name in its official communication — just as it has never used "Hulk"; both are nicknames coined by the secondary market and specialist press.

This is the first green-bezel Submariner reference Cazador adds to its catalog, alongside the black- and blue-bezel ("Bluesy") variants already present.

Why is the Rolex 126610LV called "Kermit"?

Is the "Kermit" the same as the "Hulk"?

No. The "Hulk" (116610LV, 2010-2020) has both a green dial and a green bezel. The "Kermit" — the original from 2003 and this 126610LV from 2020 — pairs a black dial with a green bezel.
