The Parmigiani Fleurier Tonda PF Micro-Rotor ref. PFC914-1020001-100182 is a 40mm sport-elegant watch in steel with a hand-engraved 950 platinum bezel, part of the Tonda PF collection through which the Fleurier manufacture renewed its integrated-watch proposition in 2021. It runs the in-house automatic Caliber PF703, just 3mm thick, delivering 48 hours of power reserve. Cazador has no verified price observations yet for this reference. Its stand-out detail: the platinum micro-rotor that gives the model its name is integrated within the movement's own height rather than sitting atop one of its sides, keeping the case to just 7.8mm thick overall.

History

Michel Parmigiani, a restorer of antique timepieces since 1976 and the watchmaker entrusted with restoring pieces from the Patek Philippe Museum and the Sandoz Family Foundation's collection of clocks and automata, founded his own manufacture in 1996 in Fleurier, backed by that same foundation. The brand's first watch, the Toric QP Retrograde, introduced that year, already featured the fluting and hand-engraving that would become recurring aesthetic signatures of the house.

In 2021 Parmigiani Fleurier fully renewed its integrated-watch proposition with the Tonda PF collection, replacing the earlier Tonda Hemispheres line and consolidating a more refined design language, centered on thin round cases and hand-engraved platinum bezels with the 'grain d'orge' (barleycorn) finish characteristic of much of the manufacture's catalog.

Reference PFC914-1020001-100182 carries that proposition into a 40mm steel case just 7.8mm thick, thanks to Caliber PF703, an in-house automatic movement only 3.07mm thick that integrates its platinum micro-rotor within the movement's own plane, rather than resting it atop one of its sides as in a conventional rotor. With 29 jewels and 176 components, the caliber delivers 48 hours of power reserve at a frequency of 21,600 vibrations per hour, visible through the sapphire caseback.

This is the first Parmigiani Fleurier reference Cazador adds, an independent Swiss manufacture founded in 1996 by restorer and watchmaker Michel Parmigiani, backed by the Sandoz Family Foundation, extending the catalog with the Tonda PF collection, its contemporary integrated-watch proposition.
