Omega launched the Speedmaster Dark Side of the Moon in 2013 as an all-black-ceramic execution of the historic Speedmaster Moonwatch, bringing the model that accompanied the Apollo missions into a material that was then unusual in high-end sports watchmaking. Twelve years later, in October 2025, Omega unveiled the collection's deepest overhaul since launch: a redesigned, slimmer case architecture, new Co-Axial chronograph calibers, and revised ceramic components.
Reference 310.92.44.51.01.001 is the "Black Edition" execution of that new generation, running Caliber 9908, a manual-winding manufacture movement with a column wheel and Co-Axial escapement that receives a special finish on the main plate, with fan-pattern Côtes de Genève decoration. Thanks to Master Chronometer certification approved by Switzerland's METAS institute, it resists magnetic fields up to 15,000 gauss, several times the magnetic resistance of a conventional mechanical chronograph.
The 44.25mm case in polished-brushed black ceramic measures just 13.02mm thick thanks to the new caliber's more compact dimensions, a notable reduction versus earlier generations of the model. The bezel, also in ceramic, carries a Liquidmetal tachymeter scale, the technique that fuses liquid metal directly onto the ceramic without paint or a separate raised element.
This is the first reference from this second generation of the Dark Side of the Moon that Cazador adds, extending Omega's coverage in the catalog alongside the Speedmaster Professional Moonwatch executions already present.
